those attacks today. ,,,,,,,,,,,, rubble of their collapsed house two >>> joyful news out of japan as two survivors from the quake were pulled from the rubble of their collapsed house today. but there are two major concerns tonight. more than a week after the earthquake and tsunami charlie gata reports the food supply is showing high levels of radiation and the nuclear plant is yet to be stabilized. >> reporter: fears about contamination from the crippled fukushima nuclear plant are growing after tests of spinach and milk showed elevated levels of radiation. >> the sample says feed, food products recorded radiation level that is over the limits. >> reporter: radioactive iodine was also found in tap water as far away as tokyo. some nuclear experts say the findings are not cause for worry just yet. >> the amount of radiation, even, that has been detected in the food so far in japan, while it's above normal safety limit, it poses no substantial health threat. >> reporter: workers keep spraying water on the most vulnerable areas of the fukushima plant. they are trying to restore power

disaster in japan is becoming clearer each day. the death toll continuing to rise and survivors are cut off from rescuers and aid. 686 known dead. government officials say it will be much higher. an explosion today blew the roof and walls off a nuclear reactor. nine people exposed to radiation. four trains have disappeared and not been located and 9500 people in one coastal town have not been accounted for. the tsunami went as far as six miles inland. more strong aftershocks today in japan, largest magnitude 6.1 this morning. and that's prompting new concerns at the country's nuclear reactors. charlie d'agata with what is calling this anxiety. >> reporter: raising anxiety across japan. a cloud of white smoke cover thed nuclear complex after the blast. 170,000 people have been evacuated, 12 miles around the area. engineers are trying to get a handle on it and say the explosion destroyed the building that housed the reactor but not the reactor itself. the safety agency is reporting another emergency at a second reactor in the same complex. >> there is a lot of apprehension with people all thr
